Measurement-induced phase transitions in sparse nonlocal scramblers

چکیده

Measurement-induced phase transitions arise due to a competition between the scrambling of quantum information in many-body system and local measurements. In this work we investigate these different classes fast scramblers, systems that scramble as quickly is conjectured be possible---on timescale proportional logarithm size. particular, consider sets deterministic sparse couplings naturally interpolate circuits slowly highly nonlocal achieve fast-scrambling limit. We find featuring interactions are able withstand substantially higher rates measurement than with only interactions, even at comparable gate depths. also study error-correcting codes support volume-law entangled our maximally yield nearly extensive contiguous code distance. Use sparse, opens pathways towards design noise-resilient error correcting current future devices minimum numbers.

Γ-convergence for Nonlocal Phase Transitions

We discuss the Γ-convergence, under the appropriate scaling, of the energy functional ‖u‖Hs(Ω) + ∫ Ω W (u) dx, with s ∈ (0, 1), where ‖u‖Hs(Ω) denotes the total contribution from Ω in the Hs norm of u, and W is a double-well potential. When s ∈ [1/2, 1), we show that the energy Γ-converges to the classical minimal surface functional – while, when s ∈ (0, 1/2), it is easy to see that the functio...

On Phase Transitions in Learning Sparse Networks

In this paper [1] we study the identification of sparse interaction networks, from a given set of observations, as a machine learning problem. An example of such a network is a sparse gene-protein interaction network, for more details see [2]. Sparsity means that we are provided with a small data set and a high number of unknown components of the system, most of which are zero. Under these circ...

Phase Transitions in a Logistic Metapopulation Model with Nonlocal Interactions.

The presence of one or more species at some spatial locations but not others is a central matter in ecology. This phenomenon is related to ecological pattern formation. Nonlocal interactions can be considered as one of the mechanisms causing such a phenomenon. We propose a single-species, continuous time metapopulation model taking nonlocal interactions into account. Discrete probability kernel...

Phase Transitions for Greedy Sparse Approximation Algorithms

A major enterprise in compressed sensing and sparse approximation is the design and analysis of computationally tractable algorithms for recovering sparse, exact or approximate, solutions of underdetermined linear systems of equations. Many such algorithms have now been proven using the ubiquitous Restricted Isometry Property (RIP) [9] to have optimal-order uniform recovery guarantees. However,...

Complex Domain Sparse Phase Imaging Based on Nonlocal Bm3d Techniques∗

The paper is addressed to 2D phase and amplitude estimation of complex-valued signals —that is, in particular, to estimation of modulo-2π interferometric phase images from periodic and noisy observations. These degradation mechanisms make phase image estimation a challenging problem. A sparse nonlocal data-adaptive imaging formalized in complex domain is used for phase and amplitude image recon...
